| hey everyone
haha, came back from retreat feeling pretty refreshed based on a few reasons. i thought the speaker this year was awesome based on his main emphasis on apologetics, which is arguing for the case for christ and his grace against skeptics. some of the things i liked about the speaker, pat zucheran, was that he showed examples like the sciptures' pin point accuracy on the advent/crucifiction of christ and the possiblity of that happening is 1/(10^26) which equals close to zero. another example is the complexity of this world leadign to the conclusion that this world had to be created by God and nature itself would never have been able to do that. another thing that helped me was reading the book, Case for Faith, which an interviewer asks 8 experts on 8 different questions atheists ask upon the existence of God.
i had an awesome time being small group leader this year. haha, it was funny beucause i asked my pastor about helping with the high school program this year and he told me he would get a response in a matter of a few days. on the day of retreat my pastor goes to me and tells me that they want me to help out and assist with the small group leaders, not telling me that i was a small group leader myself so when my name as small group leader was on the screen i was like... uh... ok. althoguth i didn't know i was small group leader it was fun just trying to relate my experiences with Christ to my group and performing our skit. the skit was based on mtv's dating show next where i presented myself as da win(darwin) as a girl who was athiest trying to find the meaning of life while the guy constestants were world religions liek budhhism (carre ma), mormanism (i'm thomas moore... man!) , jehovah's witness (jayho va wytness), hinduism (taj gahndi), and last of all christianity (chris chen). well, since we only rehearsed it only two times, when it came to showtime i forgot to mention that i was a girl so when that happened i was liek... crap.. now it's going to look like a gay date show. well, i guess after showtime peopel i heard either liked it while other peopel had problems with it how it promoted homosexuality or just flatly made fun of gay people. well, i sort of thoguth it was mostly my fault because the next day i got personally reprimanded by one of the pastors at cedarville saying that i wasn't a good small group leader and i shoudn't be a small group leader next year and that my partner had some of the trash dumped on him as well. althoguth things didn't go as well as expected i still praise God for all the good things he has done during retreat and that i hope the situation cools down over time.
